Can I Get My Ex Back? Things To Consider First

anamated-get-ex-back22

“Can I get my ex back?” is a common question we ask ourselves after a break up.  When the break up was going on, it was most likely a rough time for you, so hopefully you have allowed some time to pass. Now that you are ready to get back on the horse again, deciding to get back with an ex is a normal feeling.

There are two things to consider when you are going to try to get your ex back; the way you feel and the way your ex feels.

How are you feeling about your situation after you broke up with your ex?  Has your life returned to semi-normal, and do you think you can re-find your relationship with your ex without it being super stressful?

What do you think your ex is feeling about the situation since your breakup? Have you talked or hung out with them recently?  Before you can get your ex back, you are going to need to figure out how they feel about the situation.

If you are both on the same page then it is time to sit down and talk about what happened and work out your differences.  Getting back together with your ex needs to be a mutual decision otherwise at the very least you will be label a nuisance or quite possibly, even a stalker.  Then you won’t have to wonder “Can I get my ex back?” because that will insure the answer is no.

If your ex is not feeling the same as you, you should take a bit more time away and let things cool down some more.  If your ex is not ready to rekindle the relationship, that does not mean it is a definite no.  Just let things calm down for a little longer.

Once it has been decided together that you both want to get back together, you can begin the rekindling process.  Plan on doing a bunch of talking.  Taking about your problems is the first step towards preventing another break up.

When you do nothing to resolve the problems that caused the break up in the first place, then any effort you have but into getting back with your ex will be futile.  It is not worth all of the wasted effort to get your ex back if you are only going to break back up again.

If you can resolve the problems that led to the stress and break up the first time around, then it will be much safer whether or not you can “get my ex back”.

If your ex wants to get back together with you and you are not sure how you feel about the whole situation then be prepared to do some thinking.  There is nothing wrong with mulling over the idea for a few days before you take action.

Do not agree to anything that you are not comfortable with.  If you don’t feel that it is a good time to get back together with your ex, then let your ex know that you need more time and make sure you take the time you need.  Never force yourself into a relationship because not every relationship is meant to be.

Sometimes, deciding to get back together with your ex can be a good thing, and sometimes it is better not to open closed doors. Ultimately, you and your ex need to come to the decision together through civil conversation.
