Love Relationship Advice You Can Actually Use

happy-couple

Have you been receiving your love relationship advice from places like Cosmopolitan?  Well, that might be part of the problem right there.  Popular magazines and Hollywood movies might offer you a lot of advice on finding dates and the things you can do with your date at the end of the night,  but very rarely do they offer you any true advice on how to build a strong foundation for a long term relationship.  So for a nice change of pace, here is some love relationship advice you can actually use.

Building Trust.

Most love relationship advice will focus on building trust because it is the base of having a happy, loving relationship.  Trust can and will develop in it’s own time but putting in a bit of work to build trust won’t hurt.

How would you go about doing that?

Fist off, by being reliable.  If you say that you will call at a specific time, then make sure you call.  Going to meet them somewhere at a specific time?  Then make sure you are there at that time.   Also try not to make little off-hand promises you have no intention of keeping, like “Yeah, I’ll help you clean the kitchen later.”

When you don’t agree on something then be fair about it.  Don’t take cheap shots at your partners vulnerable spots.  Respect there opinion and don’t tell them they shouldn’t feel a certain way just because that is how you feel about it.

Don’t ignore things concerning money.

This is not the most common love relationship advice but it is very important advice. If you and your partner share any financial responsibilities together,  you owe it to  each other to discuss things in this area.  Where as it is not a whole heck of a lot of fun talking about money, it will prove to be even less fun talking about it if you have a problem due to poor planning.  Try not to let it get that far.

Even if you are married and only one of you brings home the bacon, so to speak, you both need to be involved in the financial planning.  To avoid problems, set aside some time each month, like when your paying bills, to discuss your financial situation.  It will be much less stressful once you become accustomed to discussing it.

Learn how to end arguments.

Arguing is inevitable.  Your partner, yet again, does something that is truly annoying and suddenly you are in a screaming match.  The big thing here is not so much how to avoid arguing, but knowing how to stop the argument when it does happen.  In fact, the ability to diffuse post-argument tension can make or break a relationship. How’s that for valuable love relationship advice?

So,  when your arguing is starting to get out of hand, try to put a bit of humor in it,  say something nice to your partner, or acknowledge that ultimately you both share the same goals.  If your still feeling a bit edgy,  take a break in order to clear your head.

Discuss what matter.

Ever here about people leading separate lives from their spouses and wake up one day to realize that their marriage is the same way.  this generally starts with the lack of deep communication.  True relationship communication is not equivalent to when the kids have to be picked up or when your going to get to that leaking faucet.  It is talking about your feelings from day  to day and sharing your hopes, dreams for the future, and even your fears.

The keys to keeping your relationship going strong are trust, great communication, and attention to the small things that really matter.  Don’t get sidetracked by magazine headlines or the newest movie because the best love relationship advice isn’t always about when to send flowers or what to do in the bedroom.
