Stop Your Divorce – Five Steps To Reconnect With Your Spouse
Live in the same house but feel miles apart? This is more common then you think. As routine sets in and daily life continues to evolve you spend less time with your spouses and more time doing the mundane daily tasks, but it doesn’t have to be. You can stop your divorce.
1. Go out and try something new as a couple.
Stop your fighting long enough to agree to try a new hobby or sport. find some old golf clubs and play a few rounds of golf. Go exploring in the woods on a hike, pull out your bike and find a trail to follow; do anything that you don’t normally do. This will help you find a new and quite possibly exciting side to your lover.
2. Talk about what is wrong.
You’ve been upset for over a week because you got your hair cut and he didn’t notice. Unless you made a drastic change, he most likely will not notice it near as quickly as your friends will. Or quite possibly he did notice it and didn’t particularly care for it. He might be keeping quite to spare your feelings but you still got your feelings hurt.

Let him know. As nice as it would be, he is not capable of reading your mind. So let him know that you cut your hair and your upset he didn’t notice. Or tell him your mad as the dickens. Just be prepared, if he did notice and doesn’t care for it, your going to be even angrier!
3. Write what you need to say in a letter.
Sound strange to write a letter to the person sitting across from you at the dinner table? If you can’t seem to communicate any other way this might be a safer way to go. Even if you feel silly, you have to be able to communicate if you are going to stop your divorce.
Make a list of all of the points you want to make and then get them on paper. It doesn’t have to be worded perfectly. You are not trying to win a contest. Say exactly what you mean and make sure you mean what you say. And never forget, if you don’t want to be reminded of it tomorrow then don’t put it in writing today.
4. Go to a marriage counselor.
If nothing else is working to stop your divorce then go to couples counseling. If you really want to make your marriage work then getting the unbiased wisdom of a third party just might be the ticket. When you vent your frustrations to your friends, they are going to agree with you about what a jerk he’s being. When he vents to his friend, they will agree with his complaints. Someone on the outside will not take sides and can give you a clearer picture of what is going on, how to figure out your problems so you can stop your divorce, and steer you down a different path.
5. This is an absolute last resort. Consider doing a trial separation.
If you have tried everything else then agree to take a weekend off from each other with absolutely no communication at all. This will give you time to think things through without being caught up in the heat of the argument and they always say that absence make the heart grow fonder.
